Merlin’s Spotify deal will allow indies to go ‘toe-to-toe with majors’ says CEO Charles Caldas

Merlin CEO Charles Caldas has told Music Week that the organisation’s new licensing deal with Spotify, which will allow its member labels to window releases, will enable indies to go “toe-to-toe with majors” in the streaming market. The deal follows a similar agreement between the streaming giant and Universal Music Group.
